Scene from Redhill in Surrey, February 7 2015
2 exact years has passed since this cloud “floated on high o’er vales and hills”. Here above the Surrey Downs it watched for the not-quite-yet-ready, Wordsworth’s host of golden daffodils. It’s early March when these are ready.
But as in the poem, this scene was beside a lake and beneath the trees. Here somehow, this poet’s invisible early Spring spirit could be felt faintly “fluttering and dancing in the breeze”. Now can’t wait for the company of those 10,000 yellow flowers and drive those clouds away..
